Review: Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Dark Circle Eraser

I'm sorry I haven't had any reviews for the past couple of weeks. Things have been crazy around here. Between finals week at school and attending friends' graduations, the time I have had to myself, I haven't felt like blogging. I've been too tired and too brain dead. I have also managed to get a job for the summer, and that has been keeping me busy as well. But I'm here to do a review on a much talked about product!

This product has been out for a while now, and I'm not sure why I haven't reviewed before now. It's very popular in the beauty world right now, and a lot of people seem to really like it.

My Current Skin Care Routine

Skin care is something that I am extremely lazy about, if I'm going to be completely honest. I've never struggled with any type of skin problems, but I do believe in maintaining a routine to keep up healthy skin. It's especially important for people my age to start and stick with a skincare routine if you want youthful looking skin to last (though I do have my own opinions about that...anyways...).

So here is what I currently use on my face divided by category. This is going to be a text heavy post, but I hope you will find it useful!

Review: Simple brand Moisturizing Facial Wash

Sorry for the weird text coloring! I copy/pasted something from simple's website, and I can't get the colors to go back to the way they're supposed to be, so I had to work around that. Hopefully you can still read it!

Before I jump in: I like the idea of doing reviews on Wednesdays, so maybe that will become a thing? Hmm....

Anyways, the review!

I always hesitate to review or discuss skincare. It's one of the most difficult things to review because no two skins are alike. That being said, I couldn't help but want to review this product because I love it so much.

Before I continue, I will tell you my skin type. I have normal skin with a tendency to have an oilier nose and a dry forehead and chin. My skin is not very sensitive, and I don't struggle with acne. I get occasional zits as a result of the environment, stress, hormones, or if I ate something particularly not good for me that day.

I will also state that my close friend tried this same face wash and it broke her out pretty badly. She has very oily skin and mild acne. So keep that in mind!

Review: Aussie 3-Minute Miracle Conditioner in Moist

There are A LOT of leave-in deep conditioners on the market from a variety of price ranges and brands. I've had a hard time figuring out which one to use. I didn't want to purchase something and hate it. Who wants to waste money like that?

Aussie is a brand with A LOT of hair care products to offer. Lots of shampoos, conditioners, and styling products. I've never dabbled in the Aussie brand before now, but I decided to give it a shot for their deep conditioner based off of a review I saw on YouTube. I have 2 of them-- Strength and Moist. This review is for the Moist (which is a word I LOATHE, but it will be all over this review unfortunately).

Image taken from Walmart website as my own bottle is not attractive enough to showcase in this post after some serious use.

On to the review!

Re-Launching My Blog!

It has been a while since I have been on here. Time has gotten away from me; however, I am relaunching this blog as of tonight.

I will have posts at least once a week all beauty related! I will be reviewing all kinds of products -- hair, makeup, shower products, hygiene products (e.g., toothpaste, whitening systems), etc. I am still in college, and I am still working out my posting schedule, so I don't want to set an exact day of the week when my posts will be out, but my goal is to post at least once a week a product review or tip!

I am not deleting my previous review/tip posts as I think they will be a nice foundation for the relaunch; however, a lot has changed since this blog originally was created! Firstly, I am no longer on YouTube and have removed my YouTube videos as well as any social networking attached to it (e.g., Twitter and Instagram). I am choosing to keep everything about my life personal except what I post on here.

I look forward to running this blog again, and I look forward to interacting with any visitors! Please feel free to poke around this blog. New posts will begin sometime this week!

Thank you so much for visiting, and I look forward to getting back into this!

Review: ELF Essential Liquid Eyeliners

If you watch my YouTube videos, you have probably deduced that I am an ELF fanatic! I absolutely cannot deny myself makeup at those prices, especially when the quality is 99% of the time acceptable! I have 4 of these eyeliners, and instead of reviewing individual colors for this product, I decided to review them as a whole since they all perform similarly.

The colors I have are: Coffee, Plum, Black, & Copper.

The one thing that I will just go ahead and get out of the way here that drives me nuts on ELF's website is that their color swatches are no where near the true color that you get. For example, Plum is shown to be a light purply-pink on the website whereas in person, it's a very dark, deep, well, plum color. Copper is also not near as opaque as they make it seem. It's basically a clear liquid eyeliner with gold glitter. Anyways. Onto the review!

Review: Hard Candy Meteor Eyes Baked Eyeshadow in "277 Lunar Eclipse"

The only Hard Candy products I have really dabbled in are their baked face products (blushes and a highlighting bronzer). I was not disappointed with those products at all, so I decided to pick up a baked eyeshadow to see how I liked it compared to the other products that I have tried by this brand.

Lunar Eclipse is the only shade I have tried, so I have nothing to compare it to. This review will be based solely off of this shade and this product alone.

Review: Maybelline EyeStudio Color Tattoo in "20. Painted Purple"

Maybelline's color tattoos are all the rave lately, and I can't say I blame them. My experience with them thus far has been nothing but positive.

These little beauties are cream shadows that the company claims can last 24 hours. While I haven't experimented with a full day, I can attest to the fact that they last a good 4-5 hours (more or less depending on your skin) without a primer. They really don't crease much at all, and the colors stay vibrant, though they may fade a little without a primer.

These can be worn alone or as a base to other eyeshadows. I also find that they make great eyeliners as well! The versatility of cream shadows is what has attracted me to them, but I found that I always had duds until I found these little gems.

They come in a variety of shades and finishes (including matte!), and you get 0.14oz/4 g of product.

That's the general overview of these shadows. Now, I will review the color Painted Purple!

Quick Tip #2: Fixing Broken Makeup

Traveling has got to be the most worrisome thing when it comes to makeup (at least for me). I am always so worried that my favorite products will get destroyed in the process of packing and traveling. Luckily, powdered makeup products CAN be rescued (except for mineral ones, at least with this method). Follow the steps below, and your favorite eyeshadow/blush/bronzer can be fixed!

  1. If your product is broken up into large pieces, get a sharp tipped object and crush the product until it is a fine powder.
  2. Grab some rubbing alcohol and VERY carefully, pour some in (I would recommend pouring some into the cap first or using a medicine dropper).
  3. Stir it gently while pouring. Stop when the product is a creamy paste. If you put too much in, don't worry! The alcohol will still evaporate out; it will just take longer.
  4. Try to flatten out the top as well as you can.
  5. Let it dry COMPLETELY. Check back in a few hours.
  6. Once it is dry, take a tissue and place it over the product, making sure it is completely covered.
  7. Press gently but FIRMLY until the product is pressed and packed as much as possible. If you would like, especially for eyeshadows, you can use a coin or the flat side of a bottle cap. If you do this, make sure the tissue is the only thing touching the product and place the object on TOP of the tissue. This limits the transfer of bacteria.
  8. Once you are done, let it sit for a few more hours (maybe do it overnight?).
Once you complete these steps, your powdered product should be back to normal! I've tried it already, and it worked wonderfully! What a lifesaving trick!

If you've tried it out, let me know your results! :)

Review: Wet 'n' Wild ColorIcon Blusher in " 831E, Pearlescent Pink"

If you don't know already, I am a HUGE fan of Wet 'n' Wild products. I have not been disappointed with one of their products yet! They have a good variety of products, and they have just about everything you would need to create a full face look!

One of my favorite products to experiment with (aside from eyeshadows, of course!) are blushes. I have heard people go on and on about Wet 'n' Wild blushes, so I finally decided to check them out! I have three, but this one stood out to me the most, which is why I'm reviewing it first.
